Well they tell me it's good to occassionally get out of the comfort zone. I've been given the challenge to do just that. To the die hard country music fans who have always bought my country CD's. I say, no, I haven't lost the plot and my first love and choice of music style will always be country. In saying that, I am pleased I have recorded this first ever out of the country and comfort zone CD. There are a lot of music lovers out there who will remember some of the songs I've chosen to record and I can assure you there's no head banging material on here, just easy listening and lay back rock 'n roll. It all began with one Melissa Etheridge song (You Can Sleep While I Drive). Thank you Chris for sharing that song with me and for the challenge to learn it, what a great song, but not one I could record on a country album.
So it was decided that, why not think about recording a full CD of non-country songs. So then the work began, trying to pick out suitable songs. I hope the 18 selected songs I've chosen, including 3 tracks from my daughter Anita and son Luke, meet with your approval. I've also written one original to add to the list. Thank you Sandra and Steve Casey for the use of your beautiful car for CD photo's and to my brother Mike of Fresh Photo Image for taking the photo's. A heartfelt thank you to the two special people in my life, who motivate and inspire me so much, Chris Baker and Ann Pelly of Website Design Aust. Thank you for believing in my ability to go from country gal to rock chick. Yes, it's been a bg challenge but probably the first of many more to come.
Cheers Debbie Parry
